Existing Multi-Zone Audio System Upgrade for Home Theater
A client in Richfield, Wisconsin approached us a few weeks back that had an existing Russound multi-zone audio system. This home system did not have streaming features and had two zones which weren’t even functional on the main zone player. They also had several keypads which were non-functional and were interested in the ability to play music wirelessly, in multiple rooms in their house, through their iPads and iPhones.
Based on their needs, we were able to accomplish everything that they wanted to have, without over selling them on additional audio equipment that wasn’t going to add any value or functionality. I stress this point because at B.C. Neville Tech we look at each individual client and system, to design a custom entertainment system that fits their needs.
In this specific application, we removed the non-functioning multi-zone player and keypads, replacing them with a cost effective new Sonos system – a great fit for their specific needs.
The Sonos system allows you to play music, movies, and TV wirelessly in multiple rooms with zoning capabilities—you can play different songs in different rooms, or you can group all your speakers together to hear the same song throughout your home.
The Sonos sound system, with their small speaker design, has a crystal clear vibrant sound that automatically balances no matter where the speaker is placed in the room.
After install and training, the client was having issues with the system shutting down. We have installed nearly 100 Sonos systems in 10 years and have never come across this issue. Immediately we came out for a service call and were able to discern that their AT&T router was not compatible with the Sonos system. By updating their router to a compatible modem router, this solved the issue and the system has been working great ever since. Client is happy.
